With the aim of providing students with exposure to professional working environments, orientating their career path and better preparing them for job opportunities after graduation, the Faculty of English for Specific Purposes (ESP), UFLS-UD, held a field trip to Thaco Truong Hai Company in Chu Lai – Quang Nam on March 13th 2021.

Mr. Le Van Ba – Interim Vice Dean of the Faculty of ESP, said: “As a lecturer and managerial staff of the Faculty, it is my great honor to join the students of Business English major, Cohort 2017-2021, in the tour to Thaco Chu Lai Mechanical and Automotive  Industrial Park. This visit is truly fruitful because our students are provided with valuable information about Thaco, more importantly, job opportunities in Thaco as well as other companies. Besides, requirements regarding applicants’ knowledge, skills and attitudes in professional working environments like Truong Hai are also highlighted so that the students will be better informed. The University always seeks opportunities to establish and strengthen relationships with businesses, creating favorable conditions for early access to the labour market. This can be considered as guideline for our students to choose appropriate learning strategies in order to become a professional employee”.

Le Thi Uyen, a senior student majoring in Business English, said: “The trip is so meaningful to me as a senior student and other students in the Faculty. Any first visitors would be absolutely amazed at the impressive size of the company. The group operates in many different businesses such as agriculture, mechanics, automotive and so on. The trip certainly broadens our horizons. We also get the chance to meet the Management Board, who are very supportive and share with us a great deal of useful information about the company and job nature. The knowledge as well as the experience gained in the trip would assist me a lot in seeking jobs after graduation. I am so blessed to be a student of the Faculty of ESP – UFLS-UD”.

Tran Thi My Dieu, a student from class 17CNATM02, said: “We are taken to all factories and workshops to witness the performance of the assembly line and robots in a safe and hygienic condition. Additionally, the short trip to the port as another destination is equally interesting which offers us a better understanding of the enterprise’s working environment and raises our awareness of a thorough preparation we need to make before joining the labour market”.

She also added: “The trip has really exposed us to new experiences and, as the same time, enabled us to better identify our personal aspiration, especially towards the field of Logistics. I feel so delighted and blessed to join the tour organized by the Faculty.”
