Faculty Overview:
The Faculty of Foreign Language Teacher Education was founded in accordance with Decision No. 6738/QĐ-ĐHĐN by the President of the University of Danang dated 5th Dec 2016 on the merger with other language teacher training programmes at UFLS (English Teacher Education, English Primary Teacher Education, French Teacher Education, and Chinese Teacher Education).
The foundation of the faculty is a milestone with the mission of performing important tasks assigned by the 2020 National Foreign Language Project.
Training Missions:
- designing curricula, programmes and syllabi; providing teacher training courses at UFLS and other in-service teacher capacity building courses of 2020 National Foreign Language Project;
- revising curriculums; acting as a counselor for the university authority in various academic affairs including updating curricula and syllabi, test banks, teaching and research facilities;
- planning and developing the quota for the selection and admission into academic programmes including full-time and continuing education;
- organizing scientific research activities; doing several multi-level scientific research projects; guiding and supervising students’ research work; tutoring gifted students; taking part in the program of student admission promotion;
- devising and verifying teaching materials including course books and reference books in the faculty;
- planning and organizing political courses about political perspectives, principles, lifestyles
for academic staff; organizing training courses and advancing staff expertise and career development in order to meet the demand of the educational sector;
- doing periodic performance evaluation and assessment to academic staff in order to categorize the task performance and rearrange those tasks that fit their capacity and ability so that the faculty offer high quality training, quality assurance, high quality teaching staff and research quality.
