University of Foreign Language Studies - University of Da Nang was established in accordance with the Decision No. 709 / QD-TTg dated 26 August 2002 by the Vietnamese Government, with the mission to improve students’ knowledge of language and culture to contribute to national construction, development and international integration. The University is selected by the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Management Board of National Foreign Language 2020 project to be one of the five regional centers for foreign languages undertaking the task of training, fostering, and assessing foreign language skills, as well as developing pedagogical skills, and application of information technology in teaching and learning foreign languages.

The total number of staff of the University is 304, of which 214 are lecturers (8 Associate professors, 24 doctors, 174 Masters). At present, the University has 37 lecturers taking part in doctoral programmes, and 11 lecturers in master programmes.
Experienced experts and volunteers are involved in teaching and training at the University.
II. History of development
On April 14, 1985, the Ministry of Education issued Decision No. 395B / QD establishing Da Nang Foreign Language Education School.
On April 04, 1994, the Government issued the Decree No. 32 / CP on the establishment of Da Nang University, and Da Nang Foreign Language Education School with Quang Nam - Da Nang Pedagogy College to form the University of Education, University of Da Nang.
On August 26, 2002, the Government issued Decision No. 709 / QD-TTg establishing the University of Foreign Language Studies, a member university of the University of Da Nang on the basis of the separation and reorganization of 5 foreign language departments of the University of Education.
III. Mission
Training teachers and language specialists with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in some of the world's most popular languages.
Scientific research and implementation of social services in the field of language and culture.
Teaching foreign languages to higher education institutions, and member universities of the University of Da Nang.
Implementing the tasks of the National Foreign Language Project 2020 as one of the core units, one of five Regional Foreign Language Centers.
