Conference of Summarizing the Tasks of UFLS’ Labour Union in the academic year 2017 - 2018

On the afternoon of June 8, 2018 at Room C303, UFLS’ Labour Union successfully organized the Conference of Summarizing the Tasks of UFLS’ Labour Union in the academic year 2017-2018 and proposed the plans for the next period 2018-2019.

 

The conference was attended by Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung – Chairman of The University of Danang’s Labour Union, Assoc. Prof. Tran Huu Phuc – UFLS Rector, Assoc. Prof. Duong Quoc Cuong – UFLS Vice Rector, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong – Chairwoman of UFLS’ Labour Union, and Executive board of lower-level Labour Unions of the university.

According to Ms. Huong, the academic year 2017-2018 witnessed a positive and rapid change of the educational and training system, including the considerable transformation of UFLS – UDN. This academic year marked the time to briefly review the implementation of the Resolutions of the Congress of UDN’s Party and the Congress of UFLS’s Party in the term of 2015-2020, the turning point of term of Rector 2009-2014, the first academic year to implement the plan 2017-2020 of UFLS’ Labour Union – 2018-2023 of UDN’s Labour Union.

At the conference, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huong – Chairwoman of UFLS’ Labour Union gave a brief review of their activities from 2017 to 2018 and presented their plans for the next academic year.

In 2017, the Union implemented a number of meaningful activities and gained many achievements, for example, paying special attention to the emotional and material lives of the staff, ensuring their working rights. In the academic year 2018-2019, they will mainly focus their activities on: making plans and organizing activities closely linked to the fundamental and overall reformation of education and training according to the Resolutions of the 5^th Congress of UDN’s Party, the 4^th Congress of UFLS’s Party in the term of 2015-2020; the 14^th Congress of National Education Union of Vietnam, the 4^th Congress of UDN’s Labour Union and the academic year’s plan 2018-2019; strengthening the role of the Union in encouraging lecturers and staff to improve their professional competencies, meeting the job requirements, increasing the number of lecturers with Doctoral degree; cooperating with other administrative departments to create favorable conditions for the lecturers to do scientific research, develop their professional abilities; better managing the human resources, performing the commendation tasks and so on.

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Tran Huu Phuc – UFLS Rector – Party Committee Secretary recognized and highly appreciated the Union’s efforts. He also emphasized the needs of organizing many more practical events, protecting the working rights and taking better care on the lives of the employees.
