Nearly 1.300 New Graduates from University of Foreign Language Studies, The University of Da Nang (UFLS) were Granted Degrees

This morning (July 7th), UFLS held an end-of-year and graduation ceremony to award Bachelor’s degrees to 1,234 full-time students of 20 fields of study from 8 faculties and to award Master’s degrees to 7 post graduate students of English language studies.

In the academic year 2017-2018, UFLS introduced three more high-quality training programs including those of Chinese, Japanese and Korean in addition to three previously opened high-quality programs. The university has also been approved of its Master program on Contrastive linguistics and its Master program in TESOL (English teaching). This adds up to five post-graduate programs offered by the university.
 
Doctor Tran Huu Phuc, Rector of UFLS said that in the year 2017-2018, besides its cooperative centres, the university has signed cooperation agreements with foreign businesses for students’ internship opportunities, has received financial support from the Korean Sejong Foundation, Korean Sejong Project Da Nang and has implemented cooperation projects with nine universities from Taiwan. The university also worked with the British Council to set up an English testing centre.
Particularly, in 2017, UFLS staff, lecturers and students were actively involved in and contributed to the great success of APEC 2017 and the 33rd ASEAN Religion Conference held in Da Nang.
 
Students of the university have also won many major awards in both international and national contests including the first prize in Danang city’s Chinese eloquence contest, two first prizes in the national Olympic Russian Contest and one first prize in the Central Vietnam’s Olympic English Contest.
 
On this occasion, the university awarded Bachelor’s degrees to 1,234 students of 20 fields of study from departments including the following: English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Russian, French, Chinese, Japanese-Korean-Thai, and International studies. There were 32 graduates with high distinction, 194 with distinction and 906 with credit. In addition, seven post-graduate students of English language were awarded Master’s degrees.
 
Previously on July 6th, the university held the UFLS Job Fair with the participation of more than 50 companies, businesses and employers to connect them with new graduates.
