Opening Ceremony of the First Italian Class at The University of Foreign Language Studies - The University of Danang

On the afternoon of March 3, 2017, with the support of the Embassy and the Consulate General of Italy in Vietnam, University of Foreign Language Studies, the University of Danang (UFLS) held the Opening Ceremony of the first Italian class in Da Nang and in UFLS with the aim of developing Italian language and culture in Da Nang, meeting the demand for overseas learning in higher institutions in Italy and recruiting human resources of this language in the field of education, economy and tourism. The course is taught by experienced native teachers and Vietnamese teachers.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Hoang Hai - Head of International Cooperation Office from the University of Danang, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong - Vice Rector, Heads, Deans from UFLS and more than 20 students attending the class.

At the ceremony, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong, Vice Rector of UFLS said: “After several meetings with the Italian Embassy and reputable universities from Italy at the University of Danang in 2016 about the opening of Italian language classes to develop its language and culture in Da Nang, particularly preparing the learning programs, teaching materials and staff, UFLS now opens the first Italian class. The opening ceremony today is the foundation on which UFLS can establish the Italian Faculty in the future.

As a native teacher of Italian language in charge of this first class, Ms. Ambra Dalmasso said: “It is my great pleasure to teach Italian at UFLS and bring my own language and culture to everyone. I hope there will be more students learning Italian because Da Nang is a popular tourist destination”.
