Second Meeting Session of the UFLS-UD Educational Quality Assurance (EQA) Council

On November 2018 at UFLS-UD took place the second meeting session of the UFLS-UD Educational Quality Assurance.

A/Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, President of the UFLS-UD EQA Council chaired the meeting.    

 

 

After the opening speech by the chair, members of the council listened to a report by Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Quý – Head of Testing and EQA Department on the 2018 EQA activities, orientations towards 2019, and key actions done from the suggestions made out of the first meeting of EQA Council in 2018.

 

During the meeting, the members actively discussed the solutions for the internal assessment and on-site assessment of the programs following AUN-QA framework and the MOET framework as well as the preparation needed for the institutional assessment by 2021. Also at the meeting, thoughful remarks were contributed to the development and refinement of the educational philosophy of UFLS-UD. After the process of drafting with multiple input from members of the council and other academic and support staff, the members voted by ballot and approved UFLS-UD Educational Philosophy “Humanity – Creativity-Adaptability”.

 

From the discussions made by delegates at the meeting, A/Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long – Vice president of EQA Council delivered some conclusions to the meeting. He stressed the importance of QA in meeting requirements of stakeholders, considering this an important mission of UFLS-UD. The institution is determined to enhance the quality of training, research and service to the community; the duly and effectively implementation for on-site assessment of the International Studies Program and English Language Program according to AUN-QA framework. He emphasised also the importance and imperativeness of the assessment of the training programs following the MOET QA criteria. A/Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long suggested that members of the council continue to promote their sense of responsibility so that they can make effective implementation of impending activities and provide consultation to the Rector – President of the EQA Council in the work of educational quality assurance of UFLS-UD.
