Italian Consul General visited and worked with UFLS

On the afternoon of 8 May, 2017, Ms. Carlotta Colli, the Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City paid a visit to and worked with UFLS. From UFLS, Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Rector, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong - Vice Rector and Dr. Nguyen Thi Huynh Loc - Head of Office for Research and International Cooperation welcomed and worked with the Italian Consul General.
At the meeting
At the meeting, Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Rector of UFLS gave a brief introduction about the training affairs and staff of UFLS. As a multidisciplinary language training institution, the university always looks forward to opportunities for cooperation in training new foreign languages in addition to the current ones with the aim of meeting the increasing human resource demand in the era of intergration. The Rector hoped that the Consul General would continue to support UFLS in training the Italian language, building teaching staff as well as establishing networks with other universities in Italy in the coming time. “The recent opening of the first basic Italian class at UFLS on 3 March, 2017 can be regarded as a start of the program to develop the Italian language at our university. Moreover, the launching event of the novel “The Quarantine” by Lorenzo Angeloni, an Italian writer at UFLS is a greatly significant activity for the development of Italian language and culture at the school”, Dr. Tran Huu Phuc stated.

The Consult General was impressed by the achievements in educational and training activities at UFLS over recent years and highly appreciated the training affair of the first Italian class at the university. She also agreed with the Rector about a need to build the teaching staff for the Italian language and the preparation for founding an Italian Department at UFLS in the future.
