KOICA and UFLS-UD Unite to Advance Korean Language Training

On April 17, 2025, University of Foreign Language Studies - The University of Danang (UFLS-UD) welcomed and held a working session with representatives from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to explore expanded cooperation in Korean language education.
Representing KOICA Vietnam, the meeting was attended by Ms. Hwang Gayoung - Program Manager of the KOICA Volunteer Program, and Ms. Dinh Thi Ha - Deputy Program Manager. From UFLS-UD, participants included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long - Rector; Dr. Le Thi Phuong Loan - Head of Department of Science and International Cooperation; and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuyen - Vice Dean of Faculty of Korean Language and Culture.
During the session, the two sides discussed the potential deployment of Korean language teaching volunteers in the near future and proposed several practical areas for cooperation. These included upgrading the Korean language resource room, supporting the development of specialized classrooms, and collaborating on innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives at the university.
KOICA has been a strategic partner of the university since 2004 in the field of Korean language education and development. After two decades of effective collaboration, the Korean Language major has grown into the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, offering four undergraduate specializations, one joint master’s program, and numerous regionally scaled training programs and activities.
This meeting affirmed the strong partnership between UFLS-UD and KOICA, while opening up new avenues for cooperation aimed at enhancing the quality of Korean language education in response to growing learner demand.
