Vibrant Atmosphere at 2025 Student Scientific Research Conference

The spirit of discovery, innovation, and youthful energy blended together to create a vibrant atmosphere at the 2024-2025 Student Scientific Research Conference, held on the morning of June 5, 2025, at University of Foreign Language Studies, The University of Danang (UFLS – UD). The event became an intellectual festival, drawing hundreds of students, faculty members, and scientists, sparking a passion for scientific research across the student community.
On June 5, 2025, UFLS – UD hosted annual Student Scientific Research Conference for the 2024-2025 academic year, attracting a large number of students, lecturers, and researchers from both inside and outside the institution. The event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac – Vice President of The University of Danang, Ms. Dang Le Thu Minh – Acting Head of Technology Development and Innovation, Department of Science and Technology of Danang City, along with many distinguished guests, faculty members, and students.
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long – Rector of the university – emphasized: “Scientific research plays a crucial role in enhancing educational quality, discovering and nurturing young talents, and fostering a dynamic, creative academic environment for students.” Reflecting this spirit, the 2024-2025 academic year saw a significant increase in student research activities, with 305 projects registered. After preliminary rounds at the faculty level, 168 outstanding projects were selected for presentation at the university-level conference, divided into 16 specialized panels. All projects were evaluated based on novelty, applicability, research methodology, and presentation.
Commending the achievements of the students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac – Vice President of The University of Danang – shared: “Scientific research is not only the foundation of a modern academic environment but also contributes to building a generation of creative, dynamic students, ready for integration and sustainable development.” He affirmed that The University of Danang will continue to accompany and support students of University of Foreign Language Studies to maximize their research and innovation potential.
This year’s conference awarded 16 First Prizes, 32 Second Prizes, 48 Third Prizes, and 72 Consolation Prizes to the most outstanding projects. Notably, five outstanding projects will represent the university at the national-level competition, three projects will compete at The University of Danang level, and many others will have the opportunity to participate in citywide and nationwide scientific research competitions.
The remarkable achievements of the university’s students over the past academic year also serve as a great source of inspiration: one First Prize, one Third Prize, and one Consolation Prize at the national level; one Second Prize at the city level; and one Third Prize at The University of Danang level – impressive figures that demonstrate the quality of training and the efforts of both teachers and students at the University of Foreign Language Studies.
Beyond being a platform for presenting research results, the conference also served as a lively academic forum, where students honed their critical thinking, presentation, scientific debate, and teamwork skills – essential assets for their future careers.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Nguyen Huu Binh – Vice Rector of the university warmly congratulated the award-winning students and emphasized: “Scientific research not only helps students consolidate their knowledge, but also broadens their horizons, sharpens their critical thinking, and develops teamwork skills.”
