Spreading the Reading Culture and Connecting the Community at Book Week 2025
Updated : 2025/04/24
With the theme “Reading Culture - Connecting Communities,” Book Week 2025, organized by University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) from April 21 to 25, offers an opportunity to honor the value of books, inspire a passion for reading among students, and foster stronger community engagement.
The opening ceremony featured vibrant performances that created an energetic and joyful atmosphere. In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Long, Rector of the University, emphasized the vital role of books in lifelong learning, stating: “Each page of a book is a world where knowledge is gathered, passed down, connected, and spread.” Book Week 2025 includes a diverse array of practical and creative activities, such as the Opening Ceremony, a Library Activity Recap, an inspiring talk show titled “Lifelong Learning – Learning How to Learn in the VUCA Era” and a book exhibition hosted by various publishers.
The reading and exhibition area on the first floor of the Library became an ideal space for students and lecturers to explore valuable works, nurturing both reading habits and personal development. Alongside this, mini games and themed talk shows created an engaging atmosphere while equipping students with essential knowledge and skills to adapt to today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world.
Book Week 2025 reaffirms UFLS’s ongoing commitment to building a humanistic, liberal, and connected learning environment. More than just a celebration of books, the event serves as a gathering space for knowledge-loving minds united in the pursuit of lifelong learning.
