Japanese Companies Give Scholarships to Students of Japanese Language, UFLS-UD

On the afternoon of November 18, 2015, Japanese companies gave students of Japanese language 22 scholarships worth 110 million VND in total. These scholarships were provided to praise and encourage students’ learning attitude especially students of Japanese language.
With a twelve-year history of training, the Japanese language has now affirmed its position in the national education system. The enrollment number yearly always meets and exceeds its given target, leading to the affirmation of its reputation and attraction.
Recently, the Japanese Division has 400 full-time students, with 200 others learning Japanese as a second foreign language. In addition, it also trains Japanese for member institutes of The University of Da Nang and takes charge of human resource training projects in Japanese for Da Nang city: projects on nurse training, projects on staff training in tourism.
Besides improving the quality of education, UFLS has always focused on aligning with businesses and employers to implement training guidelines associated with social needs. In twelve years of construction and development of the Japanese language, the university has received valuable assistance from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, Japan Foundation, Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on equipment, reference materials, professionals, volunteers, interns, practitioners, soft skills training and employment after graduation, ...

In his opening speech, Dr. Tran Huu Phuc said: “This scholarship program of Japanese companies unveils your interest and mutual responsibility with the university in the field of training human resources, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Viet Nam. This is positive proof of the cohesion between the university and businesses and employers. Twenty two students of the Japanese language with excellent academic performance were also awarded a scholarship this day--an honor for them and also the driving force for other students to strive and make effort to be awarded next time. Again, in the celebratory atmosphere of the 30th anniversary of establishment of the University and 33-year anniversary of Vietnam Teacher's Day, I sincerely thank you for the precious collaboration of Japanese companies. May you - Japanese companies be incessantly growing and always be side by side with us.”

“This program is a chance to boost further the ties between businesses and UFLS students. Not only focus on learning Japanese language, through exchanging culture and meeting with Japanese companies, UFLS students has gained practical experience and knowledge of business culture supporting them after graduated.” said Dr. Ngo Quang Vinh.

Representing for 22 students receiving scholarships, Ha Xuan Thao said: “I am really honored and grateful, when Japanese enterprises in Da Nang, as well as Japanese firms in Japan have decided to award scholarships to students of Japanese language. On behalf of 22 students, I would like to express our sincere thanks to the enterprises present at the ceremony today. We each have an individual circumstances, but there is a common point that we were always trying, striving to learn Japanese. Getting these valuable scholarships is truly a significant and great encouragement for us. It not only helps us cover part of the economic burden, but it also is the strong encouragement and motivation to help us try harder on the learning path. Moreover, I believe that this program is also an opportunity for us to exchange and meet Japanese businesses. Among us, there will be someone continuing their learning; others will work for Japanese companies after graduated. Whatever we choose, we will apply precious things that we have learned, carrying the responsibilities of an adult, and pledge to devote ourselves to the development of Japan and Viet Nam”.
