Launching novel “The Quarantine” by Intalian writer, Lorenzo Angeloni at UFLS

On the afternoon of 8 May, 2017, UFLS held a launch event for a book titled “The Quarantine” attended by its author, a diplomat and an Italian writer Lorenzo Angeloni, a former Italian Ambassador to Vietnam and currently an Italian Ambassador to India.
The novel launch attracted a number of UFLS lecturers and students
With fictional characters and based on real events, the novel “The Quarantine” depicts Vietnam in 2002 when the SARS epidemic was spreading and a range of hospitals were placed in quarantine. At the end of the novel, the readers will discover that each one is subjected to a quarantine and always waiting for something unexpected to happen and that kindness and conscience always exist.

At the event, Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Rector of UFLS said: “It is UFLS’s great honor to hold the book launch today. Through this activity, the lecturers and students will have opportunities to talk with Mr. Lorenzo Angeloni, a diplomat and an author of numerous documentaries and novels on the topic of dialogues between different cultures, conflicts in wars and the improvement process of each individual based on his experience of working in Uruguay, Germany, Algeria and India. The content of the novel “The Quarantine” expressed profound humanity which is in line with the traditions and goals that the university is always aiming for. On behalf of the management board of UFLS, I would like to sincerely thank Mr Lorenzo Angeloni and Ms. Carlotta Colli, manager of Thai Ha Publishing House and all the concerned for cooperating with our university to organize such a significant activity. We hope to continue to receive more support in the coming time.”
Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung - CEO of Thai Ha Publishing House shared his reasons why he chose to publish the novel. According to him, “The Quarantine” is not only a scientific but also a cultural and life publication. The novel shows that its author possesses a deep understanding of Vietnam, especially in terms of arts, behaviours, traditional martial arts, ect.
