MEETING SESSION OF VIETNAMESE - INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC NETWORKS ON ANTHROPOLOGY AND CULTURE

Within the framework of the Partnership for Higher Education Reform (PHER), right after the Plenary Meeting between the University of Danang (UD) and Indiana University, USA (IU) taking place on the morning of July 28, 2022, the meeting session of Vietnam - International Academic Networks (VIAN) on the topic of Anthropology and Culture was held at UFLS-UD in the afternoon of the same day.
Dr. Huynh Ngoc Mai Kha - Vice Rector of the University, Team Leader; Professor Erik Lind Harms - Yale University, USA and members of VIAN groups on Anthropology and cultural studies attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the participants presented their own research orientation and expressed interest in developing a number of research areas related to the topic they were enganged in. The particpants also wished that within the framework of the PHER project, they would have access to training programs, seminars as well as qualitative research tools in the the field of social sciences and humanities in general, and in anthropology and culture in particular.
Professor Erik Lind Harms recommended some research directions and resource sharing in the academic network when the participants have become members of the project network.
The Partnership for Higher Education Reform (PHER) is a five-year initiative with the aim of modernizing three leading universities of Vietnam, including Vietnam National University of Hanoi, Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City and the University of Danang, and supporting the development of Vietnam's higher education system, as part of the Framework of Support for Higher Education Development of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The PHER project was officially launched on August 1, including 04 pillars: Renovating university governance, Improving teaching quality, Strengthening research and innovation competence, Promoting university and industry linkage.
