2015 Student Research Conference

On the morning of May 29, 2015, the 2015 Student Research Conference was hosted successfully at University of Foreign Language Studies.

Attending the conference were Prof. Dr. Trương Bá Thanh – Vice President of The University of Da Nang, Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Rector of University of Foreign Language Studies - The University of Da Nang (UFLS – UD) and nearly 1.000 UFLS – UD faculty, staff and students.
Prof. Dr. Truong Ba Thanh delivered speech
On behalf of UD directorial Board, Prof. Dr. Truong Ba Thanh recognized and appreciated achievements that the University of Foreign Language Studies gained in research activities.
Prof. Truong Ba Thanh said the most significant achievement of University of Foreign Language Studies in years was student and lecturer researches such as collaborating in compiling Oxford English Dictionary - the first copyright in Viet Nam and students’ research activities, scientific research themes having practical implementation, winning prizes from University of Da Nang, Ministry of Education and Training etc. that contributed to exalt the prestige of The University of Da Nang.

In the opening speech, Dr, Tran Huu Phuc stressed: “The Student Research Conference 2015 gathered 51 research themes picking out from more than 160 themes, with the participation of over 200 students of 7 departments. This figure showed the strict and serious study as well as their passion in researching”.
He added: “The Student Research Conference 2015 is the Research and Creativity Day of Youth. This is a place for students to exchange and share learning and researching experiences, a change for them to display their intellectual capacity while they are learning and trained in academic environments of high quality at UFLS – UD.
At the conference, 51 research works were chosen to represent and approved by 5 sub-boards. Research themes focused on academic fields: linguistics, methodology, literature, culture and society, tourism, translation, international affairs, information technology applications…

Assoc. Prof, Dr. Duong Quoc Cuong – Vice Rector offered Third Prizes to winning students
Dr. Ngu Thien Hung – Dean of Department of English offered Consolation Prizes
Dr. Le Tan Thi – Dean of Department of English for Special Purposes offered Consolation Prizes
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Quy Khuong – Dean of Department of International Studies offered Consolation Prizes
The conference ended successfully with 5 First Prizes, 5 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes and 35 consolidation Prizes. 1 to 2 best research works will be chosen for the Prize of Vietnam Young talents in Scientific Research 2015.
