Celebrating International Francophonie Day

On March 28th, 2015 UFLS – UD and Francophonie organizations in Da Nang city co-organized “Francophonie Night” to celebrate International Francophonie Day at University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Da Nang.

 
 
Ms. Eva Nguyen Binh – Counsellor for Cultural Affairs, French Embassy to Vietnam, Director of Da Nang Francophonie Institute; UFLS Board of Rectors; leaders of UFLS Offices and Departments; representatives from member schools, French teaching schools and Francophonie organizations attended this event.
 
“Francophonie Night” also attracted many French citizens living and working in Da Nang city together with more than 500 French young learners and lovers in the city.
 
 
In the opening speech, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong – Vice Rector of UFLS stressed: “March 20th is the commemoration day. This is an opportunity to honor French language which connects more than 700 million people living in different continents and countries of International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF). For French-speaking communities in Da Nang city, “Francophonie Night” is always a meaningful and essential event to celebrate the International Francophonie Day.
Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong also gave her special thanks to domestic and international organizations and individuals for supporting both materially and spiritually celebrating activities.

“Francophonie Night” is a good chance for members of French-speaking Communities to gather together, exchange and learn about French culture and history.
