Ceremony of the Korean Language Day

On 13/10/2018, Sejong Danang branch, affiliated with the University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) – The University of Danang (UD), held a ceremony of the Korean Language Day with many students from the Department of Japanese – Korean – Thai and the students of Sejong participating in cultural experiential activities and exuberant musical performances.

The ceremony took place in the exciting vibes among the university’s teachers and students with singing and dancing performances that feature the Korean culture
 
The ceremony of the Korean Language Day is an annual event held by the Department of Japanese – Korean – Thai in order to introduce the history of the Korean language, enhance cultural exchange activities, create a playground where learners of Korean stand a chance to learn, exchange, and practice their language abilities. This event, at the same time, serves as a good opportunity for students with the Korean major to improve their communication skills in Korean and nurture their love for Korea and its people.
 
Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong – The vice principal school was delivering a speech
 
During her speech, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong, the vice principal of the university, acknowledged: “The Sejong Fund in Korea, a representative governmental agency that belongs to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Korea, was founded in 2012 in order to popularize the Korean language and culture to the world. To date, Danang city and the Central Vietnam have seen a rapid increase in the number of Korean visitors and investors. Accordingly, the University of Foreign Language Studies – the University of Danang has cooperated with the Sejong Fund in Korea to launch the Sejong project on 1/7/2018 aiming at creating more opportunities to citizens of Da Nang and other cities, provinces of the Central Vietnam to be exposed to the Korean language and culture. In addition to teaching Korean, the project has initiated many other activities that help popularize the Korean culture. I hope, through participating this ceremony, the students of Sejong center as well as those in the Korean Language major will learn more about the language and culture of Korea.”
 
On this occasion, Mr. Park Seung Num – the President of the Association of Koreans in Central Vietnam – awarded scholarships to the students of the Department of Japanese – Korean – Thai who entered the university with the highest grades and those who performed well during their studies
