English Challenge 2017 at UFLS

The finale of English Challenge 2017 - an English speaking contest took place at Hall A, UFLS on the evening of 23 April 2017. After two competitive qualifying rounds, three most outstanding teams including 15 members were selected for the finale of the contest.

English Challenge has become an annual highly academic activity of the English Department. At the opening of the finale, Dr. Ngu Thien Hung - Dean of the English Department said: “This contest has practical meanings particularly for English students. As the theme of English Challenge 2017 is Cyber Culture, the message is to encourage the students to construct a better cybercommunity. The contest not only provides students with opportunities to express themselves, improve their knowledge and skills, especially public speaking skill but also develop their passion for English preparing them for future careers. I wish all of you best of luck and highest results. See you in English Challenge 2018”.

During the finale, the teams had to go through three rounds including Introduction, Overcoming Barriers and Oral Presentation. The contest was tremendously exciting with the audience’s enthusiastic cheering.

At the end of the finale, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Team “My 20”, the second prize to “The Wolf” and the third prize to “FB”. All the participants felt proud and satisfied with the knowledge and experience they gained from the contest.
