Talk Show on Foreign Language Teaching and Learning during Covid-19

On the morning of July 9th 2021, a talk show on foreign language teaching and learning during Covid-19 was organised and livestreamed by University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Danang.

The programme was part of the first extended activity of the Central Club for Foreign Language Training Institutes, an affiliate of the Vietnamese University and College Association.
 
 
In the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, Rector of UFLS-UD, Chairman of the Central Club for Foreign Language Training Institutes, shared about practical experience and united efforts at UFLS. He said, “The complicated situation and developments of the Covid-19 pandemic have proved the effectiveness of information technology application and digital transformation in teaching and learning as well as research and academic forums. With new ideas and good strategies, UFLS lecturers have made impressive videos using the university studio and online systems. We have utmost confidence in the success of digital transformation with the readiness of lecturers and students in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.”
 
 
 
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice-President of the University of Danang, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnamese University and College Association, highlighted in his speech that, “The 2020-2021 academic year of the University of Danang ended with a double success in ensuring health safety for all staff, lecturers and students, and fulfilling the objectives set for the academic year. I’m really impressed by the great efforts as well as quick reponses of member universities within the University of Danang as well as tertiary institutions throughout Vietnam at large. They have showed a very high adaptation to the application of information technology in teaching and digital transformation in education context.
 
 
The lively discussions at the talk show provided the audience with multiple perspectives on online teaching and learning, as well as inspired and motivated online teaching and learning initiatives in the context of Covid-19.
