The seminar “From Learning to Teaching: Practical Ideas for New and Aspiring Teachers”

On August 11, 2015, University of Foreign Language Studies – The University of Da Nang (UFLS-UD) in collaboration with Teachers Helping Teachers Organization hosted the seminar, titled “From Learning to Teaching: Practical Ideas for New and Aspiring Teachers”.
Teachers helping Teachers (THT) is a grassroots organization founded by members of the Himeji City Chapter of JALT (the Japanese Association for Language Teachers) in 2004. THT is dedicated to the aid and assistance of fellow educators and students in and around Asia.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong – Vice Rector of UFLS-UD, representatives from Department of English, Department of English for Special Purposes, Department of International Studies and 7 leading scholars and experts from Teachers Helping Teachers Organization, Japan.
This event including one plenary session and four concurrent sessions attracted a number of junior lecturers and students who have great passion in English teaching.
In the opening speech, Dr. Dao Thi Thanh Phuong expressed the great honor to welcome scholars and experts from Teachers Helping Teachers Organization to visit the university and jointly hold the seminar to share their experience and vision in the field of English teaching.

She also stated that the seminar covering a wide range of interesting and thought-provoking topics related to English language teaching for new and aspiring teachers would continue to ensure the lecturers’ professional understandings remain at the cutting edge.
